A little about me

I am a 34 year old woman with Cystic Fibrosis, I have decided to start a blog about my life as a mother and a family in the military. Here is a brief description of my life up until now:

I was diagnosed with CF at 10 months old. I had a pretty normal childhood aside from the medications and breathing treatments I took everyday. The first time I went into the hospital for a lung infection wasn't until I was out on my own in college at 19 years old, I wonder why ;-). For the next few years I would go into the hospital for a tune-up a few times a year until I met my husband. I'm not sure what changed ;-), but I didn't need a tune-up for several years!

I met my husband, a Marine Officer, 12 years ago. We've been married now for 5 years and moved 4 times in the last 7 years and now we are gearing up for the next move this summer. Moves are always a bit stressful for anyone but when you have to change doctors every few years it adds to the stress a little more.

Three years ago I fulfilled a dream when I gave birth to my daughter, Lola. Having CF I never knew if I would be able to have children so when we found out I was pregnant it was exciting but also scary not knowing what was in store for us. I had an easy pregnancy and easy delivery (well, if 21 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing is easy!) and a healthy baby girl was born!

Here we are three years later and everyday I fall even more in love with my husband and our beautiful daughter. I can't imagine life without them, here I will write about our life as a CF military family.
